The 2022 Inspire Awards are now open! This is your opportunity to recognise and appreciate individuals and teams that in your view have excelled.
These are the ones who champion change. The ones who challenge the status quo. The ones committed to doing the right thing and going above and beyond. The ones who make Wood a great place to work.
The last two years have been challenging for everyone, but our people consistently show up to deliver success and make the impossible, possible. The Inspire Awards are open untilMonday, July 18. Take a look around you and let’s lift each other up by celebrating exceptional performance. Who will you nominate?
There are six categories this year aligned to key cultural aspects of Wood, and these are:
Raising the Shield
This award celebrates those who show extraordinary courage to speak up and raise the Shield to keep people safe and/or make a significant contribution to the improvement of safety.
Engagement Champion
This award recognises either an employee or a leader who has had a profound impact on the people they work with or lead. This could be through their enthusiasm, professionalism, and sheer ability to engage with and motivate others and as a result maintain the morale and positive energy of those around them.
Excellence in Sustainability and Ethics
We are looking for individuals and teams that have truly advanced Wood’s sustainability and ethics agenda through exemplary performance in this vital way in which we do business. Our judges are looking for those who have ‘gone the extra mile’ to enhance Wood’s reputation and support delivery against our global sustainable development targets and ethical working practices.
Impactful Innovation
We are seeking nominations from those who don’t give up in the pursuit of innovation to solve challenges. We want to recognise the positive impact this has in unlocking solutions for our business, customers, wider industries, environment, or society.
Exceptional Customer Service
This award acknowledges outstanding performance in delivering customer satisfaction, listening up to our customers’ needs and putting them at the centre of partnership working. This includes shining examples of where our people have: overcome significant barriers to deliver challenging objectives; consistently and repeatedly delivered exceptional work to stakeholders; and actively promoted collaboration within Wood to find a better solution for customers.
Exceptional Team Performance
This award recognises the combined efforts of a team who have achieved remarkable results. This could be a customer facing project team, or an internal team that has come together and potentially against the odds managed to work together and collaborate with others to deliver exceptional performance and results that have a positive impact that can be evidenced. We want to hear about their performance and how their success can inspire other teams across Wood.
In 2021, nearly 4,600 members of Team Wood were recognised as inspirational by their colleagues in our annual Inspire Awards. Everyone nominated will receive an Inspire Awards certificate.

Around Wood in 30 Days
Team Wood has done it! We’ve completed our 30-day health and wellbeing challenge and we’ve exercised our way around the Wood world.
And we can now share that our final step total is an incredible 152,491,962 which took us once round the world and on our way back to Papua New Guinea! Watch our video celebrating the achievement:
Dr Joan Patterson, Vice President, Health Protection says: “We are delighted that Around Wood in 30 Days has been embraced by Team Wood again this year. Our collective step total shows what we can achieve when we team up together and commit to putting our health and wellbeing at the top of our priority list.
“Exercise shouldn’t be chore or last on your list, and the photos and videos shared on Yammer and Instagram over the last few weeks provide great inspiration and insight into how Team Wood stays both fit and well. And we have all learned so much about some of the locations where we operate as well as our inspiring colleagues that we have around the globe. Looking after our physical health means we’re taking care of our mental health too so hopefully the challenge has provided some inspiration and ideas for different forms of exercise to try.”
Connected Competence
From 1 April, 2022, it will be mandatory for transient workers to have attained Connected Competence certification for their relevant work scope activities in order to mobilise with Wood.

COVID-19提醒
Recently there has been a noted increase in CMED evacuations (medevacs with symptoms Covid-19) and a trend of individuals not reporting symptoms of COVID offshore to the medic for up to 72 hours.
We would like to reiterate the importance of maintaining the physical distancing and hygiene measures in place, to protect others as well as yourselves.
A negative PCR test result does not preclude the possibility that they may be incubating the infection or the possibility of infection at a later time. Everybody should remain vigilant for signs and symptoms of covid-19, even after a negative test result. Should symptoms develop, they should enter isolation immediately and follow current government and industry advice.
If you are offshore and have any symptoms indicative of Covid-19 noted below then you should immediately go to your cabin and telephone the medic on board for advice:- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- 肌肉或身体疼痛
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhoea
Contact Tracing
苏格兰保护应用程序最近推出了which is intended to be used in conjunction with all the public health measures already in place and will be particularly useful for settings such as socialising, work or travel, where somebody may come into contact with people they do not know. The app is free to download and will notify a user if they have been within 2 metres for 15 minutes or more of somebody who subsequently tests positive for Covid-19. The user will then be advised to isolate at home and to book a test if they experience symptoms.
The app will be a very useful addition to the measures already in place and we would recommend that everyone who is able to should download this app and ensure they are able to receive messages should they have come into contact with a person who subsequently tests positive for Covid-19.
One point to be aware of, when providing contact details in a social setting – e.g. in a restaurant or pub – is that people who work offshore and who may not have access to their mobile for some time while offshore, should ensure that they provide an alternative contact number – for example of a friend or relative – who will be able to get in touch with the person while they are offshore.
We would also like to draw your attention to theSafety alert with regards to Covid-19 quarantine controls
